Many French designed municipal buildings, churches and grand villas from the art-deco period can still be seen today.
Located 1500m up in Vietnam’s south-central Highlands, Da Lat’s modern airport is just 75 minutes flying time from Da Nang and 55 minutes from Saigon (HCMC).
Surrounded by fragrant pine forests, Da Lat remains popular with domestic tourists. It is a favourite honeymoon destination for Vietnamese newly-weds. And still a summer retreat for many with its temperate climate.
Our international visitors are now discovering the beauty of Da Lat. Coffee and tea plantations abound. Its fertile landscape means the city is a major producer of vegetables such as broccoli, asparagus and artichokes. While its most enduring Asian export is a wide variety of European flowers.
Day 1
We ‘meet & greet’ at Lien Khuong International Airport arrivals lounge and transfer you the 30km through pine forests to your Da Lat hotel for check-in. On our way we visit the beautiful landscaped Flower Park, Xuan Huong Lake and the city’s famous ‘Crazy House‘. We head out again in the evening for our Da Lat City Food Tour and night market, when most of the street vendors open for business (food included). We visit the most popular street stalls and hidden alleyways plus Da Lat’s ever-busy night market.
Day 2
Today is our Full-Day Da Lat City Tour. Our visits include: the 1938 Art Deco Da Lat Railway Station for a unique 7km train ride to Linh Phuoc Pagoda, the French Quarter and its villas, our Catholic ‘Rooster’ Cathedral and attractive royal residence of Emperor Bao Dai occupied by our king until 1954. We include an authentic Vietnamese lunch.
Late afternoon we return you to your hotel
Day 3
After breakfast we enjoy our day in the stunning central Highland countryside surrounding Da Lat city. We include visits to waterfalls – one with a roller coaster down & back, coffee & tea plantations (Vietnam’s the world’s 2nd largest coffee producer!) and a strawberry farm. We enjoy an out-of-town Vietnamese lunch.
Late afternoon we return you to your hotel.
Day 4
Hotel Pick-Up and transfer to Lien Khuong International Airport for your onwards flight
Nha Trang Two-Night Extension
Extending your stay by two nights allows for the most scenic drive eastwards out of the mountainous central Highlands down to the seaside resort city of Nha Trang. Known as the seafood capital of Vietnam, it even has its own Oceanography Institute founded in 1922 plus a wonderful 7km main beach of pristine sand. Its said Nha Trang enjoys more days of sunshine than anywhere else in Vietnam.
As well as beach attractions, Nha Trang has an interesting historic past. And like Da Lat a noticeable French influence from the 1920s & ’30s.
Our first day includes the memorable 135km drive from your Da Lat hotel to check-in mid-afternoon at the seaside! Lunch is provided today.
Day two is your full-day tour of Nha Trang from south to north, including the memorial pagoda of Long Son, the French Gothic Cathedral Church with beautiful stained glass, the holiday villa of our last emperor (one of seven French villas with wonderful sea views), Nha Trang Oceanographic Institute, the 8th century Cham Tower and Chong Promontory (with its ‘husband & wife’ rocks). We pay a visit to the local’s Dam Market and of course the beach! Lunch is included today.
Day three includes your hotel pick-up after check out and transfer the 30km to Nha Trang (Cam Ranh) International Airport.
